My fault, my failure, is not in the passions I have, but in my lack of control of them.

Roy Chapman Andrews (1184 - 1960) was a real-life inspiration for Indiana Jones, good at shooting things and wearing hats. :)
Chapman made five expeditions with horses, camels, and cars to Mongolia between 1922 and 1939, collecting rocks and animals. His most important discovery was getting lost in the Gobi and finding dinosaur nests in what he called the “Flaming Cliffs” (Bayanzag). Only one other group of dinosaur eggs had ever been found, so Andrews thought they were huge bird eggs.

Hundreds of Hungarian Jews had to leave their shoes on the bank before they were shot into the river by Hungarian militaimen during the World War II.
